Professor and interior designer Carlo Conv will deliver a 3 parts online course to understand the trends, the technologies, the potential and the challenges of doing interior design today and in the near future.
Interior design is at the center of a great revolution, the main example of this is what is commonly called "smart home". Technology is having a huge impact on how interior design is done and delivered and understood. But this is just the beginning.
In each of the 3 classes, participants will be exposed to novel ideas, trends a predictions on what could happen in the near future in this profession.
We will understand how AR, AI, VR, 3D printing, instagram and all sorts of apps are turning the profession upside down. We will try to make a connection in between the past, the present and the future of this profession.
Who is the target of this online course?
Mainly interior designers, both professionals and students across the world. A background in design is recommended but this is not an advanced course, so also people who love interiors and want to understand more about it are welcome to join too.
What is the goal of this course?
The goal of this course is to showcase what is the current situation in the design world, what are the challenges we are facing and how you can prepare yourself to be successful in this field. Take a look at the classes themes to better understand what is this course about.

27 Sep, Class 1 / Today and tomorrow - a look at what’s going on around us today, and what’s to come within the next five-ten years in the interior design field.
4 Oct, Class 2 / The profession - being an interior designer in 2020 and beyond, how the profession and role of designers is evolving and what challenges we are facing, including the side effects of the global pandemic.
11 Oct, Class 3 / Technologies - we will look at the most important technologies that are having an impact on the interior design profession and market, but also on how customers interact with designers and vice versa.
